Arapaima is a startup focused on developing solutions in the field of data science, quantitative finance and artificial intelligence to support managerial decision-making and strategic formulations. The company is headquartered in Manaus / Amazonas / Brazil. It was created in 2020 and its formulation was planned in Israel.

The name chosen for the company, Arapaima, is the scientific name of the largest fish in the Amazon Basin - the Pirarucu. The choice was made when developing an application (yet to be launched) aimed at creating stock portfolios. A name was sought to express the possibility of wealth generated by the system. That's when the fish was identified. Fish is one of the symbols used, both by religions and financial market actors, to indicate available wealth. It is also combined with the desire to pay homage to the verdant Amazon region. Therefore, with this name, the startup is expected to generate wealth and growth for its customers in the same way that Pirarucu generates for the Amazonians.

Following this logic, all projects and services offered by Arapaima will adopt names of either Amazonian fauna or flora. It is believed that, in this way, in addition to paying homage, we will also be contributing to the dissemination of the Amazon to the world.
